Dear colleagues,
As spring turns to summer, I would like to take a moment to reflect on some of the significant events that have shaped the Orgalim agenda over the past weeks. A highlight of this busy period is undoubtedly the release of the long-awaited report of the EU Industrial Forum on Advanced Manufacturing. This provides a policy blueprint for expediting the deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies across European industry. Co-led by Orgalim, the report brings together the views of a wide range of stakeholders from Member States, industry, social partners, and research and innovation organisations, and represents a unique contribution to the current work on ensuring the competitiveness of Europe’s manufacturing base as we transition to net zero.
In June, we also hosted our Spring Convention, bringing our community together once again. The Convention served as a platform for aligning our industries’ strategic direction during this critical period, as our companies work to absorb an unprecedented number of new legal requirements while their global competitiveness is under growing pressure. Together with Orgalim’s Executive Forum for Advanced Manufacturing, we have also started to firmly set our eyes on the upcoming 2024 EU elections, when the EU’s political compass will be reset.
Ahead of us, a few intense months as multiple key new laws make their way through the final stretch of the legislative process. I hope that you will nonetheless find an opportunity to relax and recharge during the summer break.
Best regards,
