Energy system integration: powering a climate-neutral economy

2 July 2020

On 24 June Orgalim Policy Director Christoph Luykx joined a panel of experts to debate holistic policy-making and the technologies needed for a smart integration of our energy systems.

Together with Frauke Thies, Executive Director at smartEn, Frederic Dunon, Chief Assets Officer at Elia Transmission Belgium, and Rabia Ferroukhi, Director of Knowledge at Policy and Finance Centre IRENA, the panel discussed the range of technology and policy solutions required for an efficient, timely and just energy transition.

The session, moderated by Klaus-Dieter Borchardt, Deputy Director-General, DG ENER, at the European Commission (EC), foretold the EC’s Energy System Integration Strategy that will be issued on 8 July. This strategy will identify the key actions needed to ensure the smart integration of renewables, energy efficiency and other sustainable solutions across sectors.

Throughout the session, attendees were able to join the debate and express their views using Sli.do. A copy of the recording, including the results of the different polls, is available via this link.
