Orgalim joins MAKFED Machinery Summit 2023

This week, our member, the Turkish Machinery Federation (MAKFED) hosted its third Machinery Summit, a biennial event that convenes public administrators, academics, and industrialists to discuss the trajectory of the machinery industry. This year's summit was held in Istanbul, with the theme "Machine Industry in its Centenary," highlighting the industry’s enduring significance.
Orgalim’s President, Rada Rodriguez emphasised in her keynote address the need for a radical competitiveness push for Europe to achieve its net zero goals. Our Director General Malte Lohan explained the important role of industry in the green transition and the common challenges faced by companies, such as financing, skills, and supply chains. He also examined the evolving global competitive landscape and delved into how to make the most of shared strengths. Orgalim's Green Transition Manager, Stéphanie Mittelham, discussed the new Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) in the European Union and shared her insights on its impacts on the machinery sector.
The Machinery Summit 2023 provided a valuable platform for industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, network, and explore collaborative opportunities. It also served as a timely reminder of the machinery industry's critical role in driving global competitiveness and the transition to a net-zero future.
