Orgalim’s General Assembly has today elected Javier Ormazabal, President and CEO of Velatia, as its new President. Mr Ormazabal succeeds Rada Rodriguez, CEO of Signify GmbH, who has completed a successful four-year term as President.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Ormazabal said: “Taking up the role of President is a major responsibility and a true honour. I am grateful to the Orgalim community for their trust.” Mr Ormazabal starts his Presidency at a significant moment in the EU political calendar, just ahead of the Parliamentary elections next June and the appointment of a new European Commission at the end of the year. “Hundreds of thousands of companies in our industries are witnessing the eroding competitiveness of Europe’s manufacturing base. It is high time that our political leaders remove unnecessary regulatory obstacles and allow our companies to generate new growth models supporting Europe’s net-zero transition. I look forward to strengthening the voice of Europe’s technology industries, building on the excellent work of Rada Rodriguez”, he added.

He is exceptionally well-placed to help Orgalim advance the dialogue and cooperation between industry and policymakers on strengthening the competitiveness of Europe’s high-tech manufacturing companies.

Malte Lohan, Orgalim’s Director General, commented, "Javier brings with him a track record that is characteristic of Europe’s technology industries: a mid-sized family-owned company with deep roots in its local community, but also with extensive international presence due to its world-class industrial innovations. He is exceptionally well-placed to help Orgalim advance the dialogue and cooperation between industry and policymakers on strengthening the competitiveness of Europe’s high-tech manufacturing companies."
