Orgalim believes that the 1985 Product Liability Directive (85/374/EEC) remains fit for purpose and sees no reason to revise it. We are concerned that the new Legislative Proposal for a Directive on liability for defective products (“Revised PLD”) will bring significant legal uncertainty and increased legal costs for Europe’s technology industries, ultimately undermining their competitiveness and stifling innovation.
