Published: 31 January 2013

Policies & Issues: Energy & Climate

Orgalime fully supports the objectives of the Energy Efficiency Directive that establishes a common European framework of measures for the promotion of energy efficiency to achieve the 2020 EU objectives and pave the way for further energy efficiency improvements. Concerning implementation, it should be ambitious, harmonised and timely to succeed in its goals.

The Commission is currently developing guidelines, in cooperation with member states, on the main provisions of the Directive with this in mind.  We strongly support this Commission initiative.

We particularly appreciate the open dialogue and the opportunity given to stakeholders to contribute to these guidelines.
