Orgalime letter to EU member states

This letter was addressed to the EU member states in view of the discussions in the Council working group.  It was sent by the Orgalime member federations to their respective national governments.

In the letter Orgalime mainly expresses once again reservations on the need for a review of the existing directive at this stage, and clearly states that the present revision may be premature and should be reconsidered. Any revision of the Machinery Directive should provide clear benefits for all stakeholders and should simplify the implementation of the legislation.

Orgalime doubts that the revision process in its present form will achieve these objectives.
