Dear colleagues,
We barely got used to putting a "2" at the end of the date, and Orgalim has already published three position papers, provided a detailed analysis of the French EU Presidency priorities for our members, and launched a new series of technology case studies. Welcome to 2022! This is going to be a crunch year for implementing the EU’s unprecedented reform agenda; and our industries are right in the thick of it.
While Europe’s security situation may have dominated the media headlines when President Macron presented the French Presidency's programme to the European Parliament last week, he made it clear that the continent's first challenge is climate change and the second is the digital revolution. That twin transition is our heartland and to illustrate just how our industries can – and do – contribute, our new Technology in Action series shares real, practical, case studies showcasing our industries’ critical role on the path to a more green, digital and resilient Europe.
Looking ahead, EU Industry Days is fast upon us. Make sure you book your agendas for this four-day event which will be a key moment to discuss industry challenges and take stock of progress towards the EU’s renewed industrial ambitions. Orgalim will be as involved as ever: President Rada Rodriguez will join the plenary session on the business case for EU industry investing in the green, digital and resilient economy; we will run the session on Advanced Manufacturing, in the context of our work on the EU’s Industrial Forum; and we take part also in the panel debate on the Data-driven green transition, organised by our Finnish member, the Technology Industries of Finland.
Despite the pandemic that continues to affect our lives, and the enormous stakes of getting the regulatory reforms right, 2022 promises to be a year of positive change with the Green Deal as the strategic compass. I look forward to working with all of you during the busy months ahead.
Take care,
