5G Users Forum: Empowering EU Smart Manufacturing

 Virtual event

13 October, 14.00 - 15.30

5G is now reality for many European citizens and more are in the first line to get to explore its innovative potential. At the same time, more aspects of our lives are becoming digitalised at an accelerated pace, but the real potential of this technology is far from being grasped at scale. We invite you for a dialogue as part of ETNO's 5G Users Forum to understand the benefits of 5G in smart manufacturing: boost the safety of workers in hazardous environments, optimise the use of resources and minimise environmental impact, increase productivity and efficiency, or contribute to cross-sector innovative ecosystems, to name a few.

The overarching aim of this open exchange is to broaden the understanding of various stakeholders from the EU institutions and industry stakeholders on what the needs of the smart manufacturing ecosystem are. Join us to hear and learn directly from EU representatives and early pioneers of 5G in smart manufacturing and prepare your questions to speakers!

Opening remarks from:

• Lise Fuhr, Director General, ETNO (European Telecommunications Network Operators' Association)
• Malte Lohan, Director General, Orgalim, Europe’s Technology Industries

• Yves Paindaveine, Head of Sector, Digitising European Industry governance, European Commission
• Pilar del Castillo, Member of the European Parliament
• Ioannis Anyfantis, Project Manager, Prevention and Research Unit, European Agency for Safety and Health at Work

5G in smart manufacturing - use cases presented by:

• Emmanuel Routier, Vice President Industry 4.0, Orange
• Juan Cambeiro, Innovation Manager, Telefónica
• Guido Weishaupt, 5G Campus Network Project, Squad Lead Product Development, Deutsche Telekom

Discussion moderated by Maarit Palovirta, Director of Regulatory Affairs, ETNO
