Increasing the energy efficiency of electric motors represents a major opportunity for energy savings and thus the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. This Technology in Action case study shares a practical example of how companies in Europe's technology industries can address this challenge, and are addressing it already today.

It features Slovenia's Domel, which makes highly efficient motors for vacuum cleaners and other household appliances, garden equipment and power tools; heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) motors in buildings and auxiliary motors for the automotive industry, optimising their design to reduce both energy efficiency and materials usage.
