In Europe, excessive, overlapping and contradictory regulatory requirements are stifling innovation, raising compliance and production costs and impeding the successful deployment of certain new technologies and digital services. This undermines Europe’s attractiveness as a place to invest in technological development and also risks undermining the long-term competitiveness of its industries.
