The future EU Research and Innovation policy will have a deep and long-lasting impact on Europe’s competitiveness and technological leadership. To build a strong future for our society and our economy, we need to make Europe the most attractive place for Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I), where new leading technologies are created, and investments are made.
Technological progress is not only key to economic growth and development but is a geopolitical factor: mastering
essential future technologies will be crucial for controlling strategic nodes and creating mutual strategic dependencies within international value chains. In essence, an integrated research, innovation, and industrial policy is required if Europe’s future is to remain in our own hands.
