European Competition Law in Practice – 30 key points

In line with its policy of informing engineering companies of the latest developments in EU regulation which affect them, Orgalim member federations lawyers throughout Europe, have developed a new guide - "European Competition Law in Practice - A concise overview of major aspects of EC Competition Law". Knowledge of the major rules of competition law is a "must" for companies and trade associations, as they can be be made jointly and severally liable in cases of competition law infringements.

The guide gives a thorough introduction to European competition law and pinpoints, from a competition law perspective, the sensitive areas for cooperation between companies. It gives straightforward advice by asking questions such as - what types of agreements and practices do authorities consider as restricting competition? How can organisations, both companies and associations avoid problems with competition authorities, high fines and bad publicity? It also covers the issue of compliance programmes as a preventive tool. The new guide particularly provides information on the new antitrust regulation and the reformed block exemption regulation on technology transfer.
