Orgalim | Europe’s Technology Industries is looking for an Adviser, Accounting & Finance (50%), to join our dynamic and growing team. This is an opportunity to work at one of the leading industry associations in Europe in a key back-office function.

Orgalim has a team of over 30 people – 18 nationalities – representing the interests of Europe’s technology industries: innovative companies spanning the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronics, ICT and metal technology branches. We are working with policymakers and stakeholders to strengthen our industries’ growth and global leadership, to maximise their contribution to Europe’s economy and society, and to foster a new relationship of trust between businesses and citizens.
Europe’s policies related to the green transition – energy transition and decarbonisation agenda, environmental sustainability, circular economy – are top priorities for our members. In addition to its policy-related activities, Orgalim also operates a website dedicated to the sale of legal publications. This activity has seen strong growth over the past years and integrates the latest marketing and technical features available for online sales sites.
Job description – roles and responsibilities
As Finance Adviser, you will support the Operations Department in managing the accounting and finance functions. We are looking for an enthusiastic, curious and hands-on colleague with excellent communication skills, a self-starter with creativity and a “can-do” attitude. The responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and recording all aspects of accounting: purchases, sales, financials, salaries, depreciations
- Handling all reconciliations in the accounts
- Monitoring open accounts and taking appropriate actions
- Understanding and applying our mixed VAT system
- Submitting our monthly VAT declarations
- Closing our annual accounts
- Understanding and applying our analytical accounting framework
- Producing analytical financial reports
- Monitoring upcoming legal requirements and implementing related changes, like electronic invoicing for example
- Working closely with involved colleagues
- Improving work processes as and when necessary.
You will work with the support of our chartered accountant and under the supervision of the Director of Operations.
As the duties cover a wide spectrum of accounting topics, this is a great opportunity for a motivated professional eager to apply and improve his/her accounting skills.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and rules
- Knowledge of Horus and Falco is a plus
- Curious mindset, eagerness to learn
- Multitasking, organisational and planning skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Solutions oriented
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Very high proficiency in English and French
- Critical thinking skills (e.g. ability to solve problems, ability to ask thoughtful questions)
- Ability to work as a team player, as well as independently
